The resort is split between 2 main villages, Meribel (1450m) and Mottaret (1710m) altitude. Meribel boasts an enormous number of beautifully designed chalets and chalet style apartments while Mottaret is a slightly more purpose built resort with a great selection of modern style apartments and hotels. Both resorts are extremely popular with British skiers and boarders, and have a strangely British feel to them, so much so that even the locals speak in English.
